The Playwright

TheThe Playwright Pub is located in the Rivers Edge high-rise apartment building at the corner of River and Broad in Downtown Greenville. The Playwright gets its name for its proximity to multiple performance centers the closest being Centre Stage and The Peace Center.

The entire front of house has been hand crafted in Dublin, Ireland for Greenville and South Carolina’s newest and most authentic Irish Pub. And we say entire we mean everything you will be able to see or touch in the dining room has been made in Ireland including all the woodwork, etched Victorian glass, flooring, ceiling, bar, bar rail, beer boxes, booths, banquettes, tables, chairs, bar stools, dart board, stage area and railing, private dining room, antique mirrored wall in the back lounge.

The pub will have four distinct areas for guest to enjoy, Main Pub Area, Back Lounge Area that can be sectioned off for large private parties with its own bar, private dining room, and the outside patio. Final names for all these areas being clarified. Owner, Jason Fletcher, lived outside of Dublin while working for Perot Systems and doing a project for the Bank of Ireland. He has always looked forward to bringing that feeling of place to Greenville.

The firm building the pub is one of three that are certified by Guinness as Builders of Authentic Irish Pubs in the world. We will have the ability to serve up to 36 different beers on draft with a great selection of spirits and wine as well. Will become the go to place for International Sports Viewing as we can have multiple games on with sound.

The bar is located in the center of the pub and shaped as a “P” for The Playwright.
