SIP Tasting Room & Rooftop Lounge

If you’re ready to enjoy fresh air and views of the twinkling lights on Greenville’s Main Street with an after-work cocktail or drinks with friends, SIP wine bar may be your kind of place. The rooftop spot is the newest restaurant from Jason Fletcher, who also owns The Green Room and Ford’s Oyster House and Cajun Kitchen.

The elevated tasting room and lounge, located on the Piazza Bergamo above Proaxis Therapy, will offer more than 40 wines by the glass along with two-, four- or six-ounce tastings. SIP will utilize the WineEmotion dispenser system, touted to serve wine at the perfect temperature. The system uses inert gas to prevent oxidation, preserving the wine’s taste, aroma and scents. SIP will also feature a menu of small offerings like cheese boards, dessert and pizzas created by Chef Patrick Long of The Green Room.

The tasting room will also take advantage of the knowledge of beverage experts who normally meet with restaurateurs every week, said Fletcher. Members of the SIP Society will get notifications of the special events, like samplings, seminars and meet-and-greets, with industry insiders and vintners. To read the original article click here.

It’s not an obvious career path from forklift driver to restaurant owner by way of IT, but then again Jason Fletcher isn’t the type to do things the obvious way. A native of a small Oklahoma farming town, Fletcher said his life path has been mainly about seizing chances when they come his way. “Don’t always look for opportunities in the normal places,” he said, recounting how his tagging along to a baby shower ended up landing him a job at Perot Systems after he was chatting around a grill wi

Reedy Review of SIP

“Earlier this week T and I tried out Greenville’s newest rooftop bar, SIP Tasting Room and Rooftop Lounge. SIP is owned by the same people who brought Greenville The Green Room and Fords Oyster House and Cajun Kitchen. SIP offers a large selection of wine by the bottle, and they also have a Wine Emotion machine. It’s kind of like a vending machine for wines. You can choose from a 1.5 oz tasting up to an 8 oz pour, and the machine even provides tasting notes about each wine.
